Q 1. How IAFBA scholarships are awarded?
Ans. IAFBA awards scholarship to the wards of serving, retired and deceased AF personnel under the aegis of Subroto Memorial Scholarship Scheme-2021 (SMSS-2021). The scheme also covers ‘Divyang’ children of AF personnel with disability less than 70% and wards of deceased AF personnel with no minimum applying criteria.
Q 2. What is the selection criteria for award of scholarships under SMSS-21?
Ans. There is fixed percentage of marks in different categories for award of scholarship to the student as per details given below:-

Q 3. Are there other categories in which the scholarship can be applied for Divyang children?
Ans. Yes, There are two categories i.e. (a) Divyang wards of AF personnel (whether serving or retired) and (b) wards of deceased AF personnel. They can apply for IAFBA scholarship. In these category and no minimum percentage is required for award of scholarship.
Continuation Courses
Q 4. What are continuation courses and how scholarships are paid for these cases?
Ans. Fresh applications received for the courses having span of more than a year are given scholarship in the first year as fresh and for subsequent remaining years of the course, the payment is made under the continuation courses category. The candidate, in the first year of the course is to compete for the minimum percentage required for award of scholarship. If selected, the payment will be released for first year as fresh candidate and as continued candidature in remaining years of the course.. The minimum percentage for payment in the continuation courses is 60%, which is relaxed MBBS course as being 50%.
Q 5. What are the documents required for availing payment I for continuation courses?
Ans. (a) Duly filled Acknowledgement form for the payment received in the previous year.
(b) Copy of Mark sheet of the previous year .
(c) Certificate for continuation of studies from the Principal/head of the institution .
Q 6. I forgot to apply for scholarship in the first year of course having span of more than one year. Can I apply for scholarship?
Ans. Yes, your can do so for payment of scholarship, but for the remaining year of the course only. Documents such as Marks sheet of the base class (i.e. XII class for graduation course) along with marks sheets of all the years/semesters passed pertaining to the current course.
Q 7. I have received scholarship in the first year of my B Sc Course. I have now taken admission in MBBS course. Will I get payment of IAFBA scholarship?
Ans. Yes, you are allowed to for upgradation of the course as per the extant policy on the said clause.
Q 8. While availing scholarship in continuation case, my marks percentage in one year dropped to less than minimum requirement i.e. 60%. Will I get the scholarship further?
Ans. Yes, as far as you are meeting the required marks minimum marks percentage in continuation cases, you would receive the payment of scholarship for those eligible years.
